A New Year welcomes a new Director of Graduate Studies for the department of Sociology. As of the first of the year, Professor Vida Maralani takes the role over from Professor Erin York Cornwell, who’s proven remarkable dedication to the position over the last few years.
Leading the department’s Graduate program amidst the global pandemic’s ripple of repercussions, with program funding and recruitment, is no easy feat. The department holds great gratitude for Erin’s direction and service as DGS, and with excitement welcomes Vida, who takes the helm in directing the next chapter for Graduate Studies here in Cornell’s department of Sociology.
