The 2020 Rosalyn Terborg-Penn Outstanding Article

Congratulations to Tao Leigh Goffe, FGSS assistant professor, whose article "Sugarwork: The Gastropoetics of Afro-Asia After the Plantation," published in Asian Diasporic Visual Cultures and the Americas, is the winner of the ASWAD 2020 Outstanding Article Prize. Check out the article and look for Tao on social media; she is doing amazing work in bringing together the visual and gastronomical cultures of Afro-Caribbean-Asian. 

The Outstanding Article Prize annually acknowledges peer-reviewed articles published in English during the 2019 calendar year. Nominated articles must be on topics related to the study of Africa and the African diaspora that meet the standard of excellence. The award committee will consider scholarly articles on any period and from any discipline."

"Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora] ASWAD is a not-for-profit organization of international scholars seeking to further understandings of the African Diaspora, that is, the dispersal of peoples of African descent throughout the world.
