Tao Leigh Goffe, assistant professor of Africana studies and feminist, gender, and sexuality studies, has been awarded a Global Public Voices faculty fellowship from the Einaudi Canter. Professor Goffe will be working with Professor David Dabydeen, a Guyanese novelist and poet.
Together, Professor Goffe and Professor Dabydeen have founded the Journal of Indentureship and its Legacies, a journal with the mission "to create a unique and unprecedented academic space where the study of indentureship, as a distinct form of unfree labour, can be analysed in all its forms."
The journal invites submissions for its second issue centered around the theme of Unbound Sexualities: The Erotics of Indenture & its Legacies.
Hearty congratulations to Professor Goffe!
