FGSS & LGBT Studies Graduate Assistant Application

Position Summary:

The FGSS and LGBT Studies graduate assistant provides event, community-building, and communications support for the Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (FGSS) and LGBT Studies programs. This is an academic year position for 2022-2023. The workload averages 5-6 hours/week and the compensation is a $3,000 stipend paid out bi-weekly over the course of two semesters. 

Applicants must be a registered, full-time graduate student at Cornell University and available to work events in the late afternoon and evening. Position does not include health insurance or tuition support.

Responsibilities include:

Community building and event planning:

In consultation with the DGS and program manager, the grad assistant is responsible for planning the professional development workshops, including brainstorming topics for the workshops and reaching out to faculty and other guests to present

Administrative Support
•    Logistical support for all graduate events, in consult with the FGSS program manager: To include outreach and planning for our grad colloquia and graduate professional development workshops, and other duties as assigned.
•    Support for guest speakers while they are on campus (escorting to venues, etc.)

Communications support:
•    Outreach to our grad minors listserv to notify about upcoming events
